Q. Why should I use a pet sitter?

Veterinarians and pet experts agree that keeping pets in their own surroundings is  less stressful for them when you have to leave home. Your pets are allowed to maintain their normal routines and they will enjoy lots of personal attention that we give to your pets during the visits. It also helps alleviate the hassle of having to transport them to be boarded and minimizes exposure to illnesses of other animals.

Q. What services do you offer?

We offer vacation pet sitting as well as daily dog walks for those clients who work long hours with their pets left at home. Visits include feeding, exercise and potty breaks as well as lots of TLC. We also can pick up mail and newspapers, water plants, take out the trash and give your home a “lived in” look while you’re away.

Q. What types of pets do you pet sit?

We will pet sit for all breeds of dogs, cats, birds, fish, rabbits and large animals such as horses, goats, sheep and even cows. Yes, we can milk your goat or cow if needed. Sorry … no snakes. We reserve the right to turn down an assignment if we find the animal is especially aggressive.

Q. I’m interested in using your services, what do I need to do?

Just give us a call. We will schedule a set-up appointment during which time we will get acquainted with your pets and get a detailed questionnaire filled out that contains valuable information about your pet and you. This includes your pet’s feeding schedule, any medical needs, and exercise requirements. Our contract describes in detail what you can expect from us and you’ll receive a copy of it for your records also. You will need to have a copy of your spare key to your home ready also.

Q. How much advance notice do you require?

For new clients we require a week advance notice so we have time to schedule the set-up appointment. For existing clients we ask for 2 days notice. During the holidays it is recommended that you call and reserve your spot well in advance of the holiday. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to put you on the schedule if you call at the last minute.

Q. What if my pet becomes ill while I’m gone?

We closely observe the physical condition of your pet each time we visit. We will contact both you and your vet if anything seems out of the ordinary. If necessary, we will transport your pet to the vet and administer any medications that are prescribed.

Q. I have a pet that requires medication or has special needs. Will you be able to handle it?

We can administer insulin shots and SubQ fluids as well as given oral medications. Our specialty is pets with medical needs. We can also make visits to your home for pets that have recently had surgery to check on them to make sure they’re doing OK or even changing dressings. We don't charge extra for administering medications, giving Sub-Q fluids or doing dressing changes.

Q. How do I handle payments for services?

We require payment in advance for services. For new clients we require a check at the set up appointment. For existing clients we ask that you leave a check for us on the counter. For dog walks we require payment at the beginning of each month.

Q. Why do you require a set up visit?

A set up visit is required so we can meet and get acquainted with your pet as well as get all the paperwork signed and a key picked up. We spent anywhere from 30 – 90 minutes during that visit. There is a one time set up fee of $21.

Q. Sometimes I have last minute trips come up. Will you be able to help me?

Once you’re an existing client and have a key on file, we will always try to accommodate your needs. We can’t guarantee it but will do everything possible to put you on the schedule.

Q. What should I expect when I return home?

You can expect to find your pets happy and healthy and your home impeccably maintained. You will find a detailed daily journal from us telling you about each visit. It is required that you call us when you get home regardless of the hour. We will keep coming until we hear from you … this is for concern for your pets
